Join Our Risk Team!

Lilypad is on the lookout for an Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic Risk team. Youll be diving into supporting and enhancing both the rate review and loss reserving processes, ensuring we hit our target profitability. As a pricing pro, youll derive and recommend changes to current pricing strategies and make ultimate loss ratio selections to keep us on track. Youll also help manage and analyze data for better transparency and trend identification. Additionally, youll assist in creating predictive models to guide our business decisions. What You'll Be Doing:

Data Management Maestro:

• Analyze and clean data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Develop and maintain data management processes and protocols.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate data systems.

Actuarial Analysis Ace:

• Conduct actuarial analyses to support pricing, reserving, and risk management.
• Utilize statistical and mathematical models to predict future claims and financial outcomes.
• Assist in the development and review of pricing models for insurance products.

Reporting Rockstar:

• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Document data management processes and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.

Collaboration Champion:

• Work closely with underwriting, finance, and claims teams to support data-driven decision-making.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.

What You'll Need:

• Data Savvy: Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, statistical principles, methodologies, and research techniques.
• Excel Expert: Proficiency in Excel (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization, etc.), Access, SQL, Python, and R.
• Analytical Mind: Ability to analyze data and review moderately complex analyses from others.
• Skill Set: Strong planning, analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Business Insight: Solid understanding of business to improve outcomes.
• Clear Communicator: Ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Collaborator: Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas.

Education/Experience:

• Degree: Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years' experience in data analysis and management.
• P & C Insurance: Minimum of 2 years' experience in the property & casualty insurance industry.
• Actuarial Success: Demonstrated success in passing at least one actuarial exam.
• Skills: Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SQL, R, Python).
