Better hearing and a better quality of life for individuals living with hearing loss can be accomplished with the help of the right hearing professional.Responsibilities & DutiesProfessional interaction with patients & physiciansWorking with staff to meet or exceed office goalsExamine patients to assess hearing needs using diagnostic testing and consultative skillsEducate patients on their hearing issues and demonstrate compassion in helping improve the quality of lifeKnowledgeable of different hearing aid products offering the latest technology and accessoriesIdentify the best solution taking the patient's needs and concerns into accountCounsel and educate patients and family members regarding communication, prevention of hearing loss, and morePrecision, caution, and compassion in usingA handheld otoscope to examine the ear anatomyA hearing booth using insert earphones/bone conduction headsetsTaking ear impressionsOther tasks as necessary to perform a thorough examinationMeasuring, fitting, dispensing, and repairing hearing devices and earmoldsEvaluate and follow up with patients to provide appropriate aftercare such as cleaning, maintenance, and repair of devicesRecording any all developments electronically in the chartHost outreach eventsParticipate in written, online, and other form of marketing campaignsAssist in growing the practiceQualificationsMaster's Degree and/or Doctorate of Audiology -or-Mastery of knowledge and understanding of hearing aid products and service -or-Certified by the National Board of Certification in Hearing Instruments Sciences (NBC-HIS) or equivalentMinimum of 1 year fitting and dispensing hearing products and providing patient carePassionate about helping people hear betterExpertise in helping patients in the process of choosing amplificationCompassionPatienceProblem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenHigh level of attention to detailPresentation capabilities, both one on one and, preferably, in group settingsStrong time management skillsCommitment to staying up to date on latest research onePHG, LLC
