About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Advocacy Officer (CAO) to play a pivotal role in its mission. The CAO will be a strategic leader and operational connector, driving the organization's efforts to achieve system-level change. This includes engaging communities, building alliances, and crafting campaigns that prioritize advocacy and coalition-building. The successful candidate will have a strong background in healthcare and/or advocacy, with a focus on coalition-building and management, and a proven track record in diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly in the context of health equity. The role demands a passionate individual with the ability to work effectively across the political spectrum, convene diverse groups, and align them toward a common goal. Applicants for the Chief Advocacy Officer position at the company should have at least 6 years' experience in a relevant field, with a Bachelor's degree required and an advanced degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead results-oriented advocacy teams, support and mobilize Board members, and engender teamwork and respect. Excellent communication skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to respond to urgent issues are essential. The role is not just about the day-to-day tasks; it is about fostering a sense of urgency and drive to achieve shared goals efficiently. The CAO will be at the forefront of the organization's work, giving voice to patients and caregivers, and partnering with various sectors to lead the organization's mission.
